PRESS RELEASE/PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

TAC  ANNOUNCES MEETINGS  

The first meeting of the Existing Transit Provider Subcommittee of the Transit Advisory Committee (TAC) will be Wednesday, January 5, 2000 from 1:30-3p at the East Grand School Administration Building in Granby just north of MPHS.  All persons and entities who currently provide transportation services of any kind in either Grand or Jackson Counties, including school districts and senior services, are strongly encouraged to attend.  The members of this subcommittee will work closely with the transportation consultant both to analyze existing transit demand and to develop a comprehensive coordination plan aimed at reducing driver safety training costs, maintenance expenses and existing route duplications.  For further information contact Janet Aley at 887-2581 or 887-3651.

In addition, TAC working meetings are the first Thursday of every month from 6-8:30pm and are usually held in Granby at the offices of Grand County EMS and Land Conservancy, 81 W. Agate.  The public is always urged to attend.  However, this week’s meeting, Thursday January 6, 2000, will be held at the Hot Sulphur Springs Courthouse in the Commissioners’ Room from 6-8:30p.  Specific public meetings will be held later during Y2000 in Granby, Grand Lake, Fraser, Kremmling, Walden and Winter Park to solicit public input on transportation needs and issues.  The TAC chairperson is Sue Ann Fitch and may be contacted at 627-9210 for further information.
